About the workshop

The European Commission (EC), Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), and the European Investment Bank (EIB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in Spain (MAPA), are organising a workshop on 'Financial instruments in support of Spanish agriculture and rural development', taking place on Friday, 29 November from 9.00 to 13.00 in Madrid, Spain.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Explain the features of the centrally managed EAFRD financial instrument in Spain:
    • Experiences and lessons learned from the implementation of the instrument in 2014-2022 period;
    • Present the support under the instrument in the 2023-2027 Spanish CAP Strategic plan;
  • Provide an overview of the EIB Group products available to support the Spanish agriculture sector;
  • Discuss on how to better address the financial needs of the sector.

The workshop is aimed at representatives from Regional managing authorities, paying agencies, financial institutions lending to the sector (incl. the ones involved in the implementation of the financial instrument) and farmers associations.

Registration for this event is now closed.

The main language of the workshop will be Spanish.
Simultaneous interpretation will be ensured from and to English.
