About the event

The European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are organising the seventh edition of the flagship event 'FI Campus 2026', starting on the afternoon of Monday, 30 November and continuing on Tuesday, 1 and Wednesday, 2 December 2026 in Brussels, Belgium (in person only).

FI Campus 2026 will provide an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and future direction of EU shared management financial instruments. The programme will explore how to strengthen their uptake and effectiveness, while looking ahead to the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Discussions will draw on studies and Member State experience to identify future priorities, address challenges faced by managing authorities and financial intermediaries, and improve access to finance. The event will also examine how financial instruments can better support territories with specific development needs, including outermost regions, islands, coastal areas, and Eastern Border Regions.

On Day 3, participants will have the opportunity to tailor their own FI Campus agenda by choosing from a range of parallel sessions, covering emerging policy priorities and thematic areas:

  • The growing role of green bonds in supporting the green transition;
  • Financing opportunities related to defence and security;
  • Energy efficiency financial instruments;
  • Reflows for long-term impact;
  • Priorities and opportunities for the use of financial instruments in social finance and employment, microfinance and fisheries and aquaculture.

Registration is mandatory and participation will be subject to approval.

Deadline: Friday, 20 November 2026

Immediately after FI Campus 2026, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are pleased to also invite you to the fi-compass thematic workshop ‘Designing and launching ESF+ financial instruments: A hands-on workshop for practitioners and decision-makers’, taking place on 2-3 December, at the same venue.

Participants are encouraged to attend both events to benefit from a broader exchange on financial instruments. Those interested in attending the ESF+ workshop are kindly requested to register separately.

Showcase Award 2026

The fi-compass Showcase invites all stakeholders involved in EU shared management financial instruments to share their stories on mobilising private investments, combining financial instruments with grants, and leveraging reflows for long-term impact. Whether you're a managing authority, intermediary, or final recipient, this is your opportunity to shine. Shortlisted entries will be featured at FI Campus 2026, where the fi-compass community will vote for their favourite success stories. The top three entries (one from each theme) will take home the coveted Showcase 2026 Trophy.
