About the conference
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) organised the conference Boosting generational renewal in EU agriculture – improving access to finance for young farmers, held on 18–19 June 2026 in Warsaw, Poland.
The event supported the Commission’s Strategy for Generational Renewal in Agriculture by showcasing innovative financial and advisory solutions to improve young farmers’ access to finance. These included practical insights on the CAP and its financial instruments for young farmers, national land investment schemes and public guarantees, young farmers’ development programmes, and banks’ co-investment models with young farmers, as well as blended finance and advisory support, alongside high-level dialogue and valuable networking opportunities.
It also presented key outcomes from the March 2026 EU banks–young farmers roundtable and highlighted ongoing initiatives under the strategy.
Bringing together over 170 representatives from EU institutions, financial actors, and young farmers, the conference identified practical solutions to financing challenges and reinforced the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of EU agriculture.
